Frequently Asked Question

I have got a copyright claim on my YouTube video,
what do I do?

You will receive a copyright claim on your YouTube video if you use our music without including correct attribution to the artist (mention both the artist name(s), and track title(s), and include a click-able link to https://freetouse.com/music) in your video description or on your website. A copyright claim does not affect your video or YouTube channel negatively. It simply means that any monetization revenue generated from your YouTube video will be allocated to the respective artist and/or rights holder.

If you have received a copyright claim from “Younited Media GmbH Music” or “GOVINET Internet Hizmetleri A.Ş. -M”, then it is because you have not included correct attribution to the artist(s) in your video description (learn how to correctly attribute the artists here). This copyright claim is generated by our system, which automatically reviews video descriptions for correct attribution. If our system does not find correct attribution within your video description, we will place a copyright claim on your video. Please note that we have the necessary rights to copyright claim your video if the artist(s) has not been attributed correctly.

If you have received a copyright claim on your video and have subsequently added correct attribution to your video description, please send an email to copyright@freetouse.com. In the email, include a link to your YouTube video(s) and an explanation of your situation. Once received, we will remove the copyright claim from your video. Typically, the process takes 1-3 days, but during periods of high demand, it may take up to 7 days. Please do not dispute the copyright claim, as this will only prolong the process.

You are welcome to continue using our music in your future videos. Please visit our user-friendly platform Free To Use (https://freetouse.com/music) where you can access our entire music library for free. The platform enables unlimited one-click downloads, and upon each download, a little pop-up will display an example of correct attribution. This can conveniently be copied and pasted into your video descriptions, ensuring compliance with our Usage Policy, so you’ll no longer receive copyright claims on your videos.
