Frequently Asked Question

Can I upload your music to my own music channel on YouTube?

No, this is not allowed. The music released on Free To Use Music is intended to be used as background music* for personal user-generated content** posted on various media platforms. It is illegal to upload our music as “standalone” to your own music channel on YouTube. If we find YouTube channels re-uploading our music, we will file takedown requests/copyright infringement claims against them. This will result in the YouTube channels receiving copyright strikes, and if a channel gets 3 of these copyright strikes, then YouTube will completely delete/remove the YouTube channel… and ultimately you could be sued for re-uploading our music!

* Music used in connection with visual and/or other audio material where the music serves a secondary role.
** Any form of visual and/or audio material created and published by an individual on social media platforms such as, but not limited to, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitch, Vimeo, and Twitter.
